Through the MP Reports application, Guatemalan citizens can prevent and/or report extortion, as well as report acts of Physical Violence Against Women by attaching multimedia content such as photos, videos, and audio notes.

All women who register within the application will also have access to the Panic Button for their immediate assistance through the National Civil Police.

WITHIN THE GENERAL OPTIONS OF THE APPLICATION YOU CAN:

• Consult relevant information about Violence Against Women and Extortion in Guatemala.
• Find information about the nearest points of help to your location.

IN THE EXTORTION REPORT SECTION YOU CAN:

• Report extortions to the Public Ministry with your data or anonymously.
• Help eradicate phone extortions in Guatemala.
• Contribute to the database of extortionate numbers created by the Public Ministry and the Ministry of the Interior.
• Identify calls from a reported extortionate number.
• When receiving a call from a reported extortionate number, an alert will show that the call could be an extortion attempt, with the aim of not answering it.
• If the user decides to answer, through a widget they will have the option to record the call.
• If they decide to answer and record the call, they can later select the call which includes the audio that was recorded, to submit it to the Public Ministry.
• You can report the call with or without an audio recording.
• You can report an extortion text message by sending it to the Public Ministry.

IN THE VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN REPORT SECTION YOU CAN:

In order to access sending reports of Violence Against Women, you must register in the application for validation by the Public Ministry. Once your data is validated, you will have access to the following functions:

• Report acts of violence against women to the Public Ministry, attaching multimedia content such as photos, videos, and audio notes.
• Request immediate assistance through the Panic Button for coordinating necessary efforts with the National Civil Police.
• When requesting help through the panic button, it is recommended to provide more specific location details, e.g., specific level or location within a shopping center or any specific information about your whereabouts.
